Safety Officer Intern

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in conducting workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
• Help maintain compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
• Support incident reporting and investigation processes.
• Participate in drafting safety notices, checklists, and training materials.
• Monitor PPE usage and assist in safety awareness campaigns.
• Maintain safety records and assist with audits.
• Required Skills & Attributes
• Basic knowledge of OHSA and workplace safety standards.
• Strong observation and reporting skills.
• Ability to communicate safety requirements clearly.
• Proficiency in MS Office for documentation.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious mindset.

Requirements:

• South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have participated in the YES Programme before.
• A certificate or diploma in Health & Safety, SAMTRAC
• Experience in dealing with suppliers
• Excel experience intermediate
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good customer service skills
• Ability to communicate in business language
• The applicant must be reliable, punctual, and trustworthy
• Preference will be given to candidates in and around Boksburg
