Business Development Manager – International Defence Industry

We are seeking, on behalf of our client, an exceptional Business Development Manager to help drive global growth and expand market share. This role places you at the forefront of building strong client relationships, identifying opportunities, and developing tailored solutions that ensure sustainable long-term success.

Duties & Responsibilities

Market Analysis
  • Research and analyse international market trends to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Establish networks by contacting potential clients and arranging meetings (both foreign and domestic).
Client Engagement & Relationship Building
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
  • Understand client needs and challenges to propose the most suitable solutions.
  • Represent the organisation at conferences, meetings, and industry events.
  • Plan and oversee new marketing initiatives.
Solution Development
  • Collaborate with technical and engineering teams to adapt products and services to client specifications.
Proposal Development
  • Create and deliver compelling proposals demonstrating value and feasibility.
  • Develop growth strategies aligned with client satisfaction and financial goals.
  • Prepare contracts while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines.
Collaboration & Project Management
  • Work closely with marketing, compliance, and technical teams to align project execution.
  • Manage the full project lifecycle, from initiation through to successful delivery.
  • Provide feedback and post-project support to clients.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) (BCom, BSc or BEng)
  • 1–2 years’ post-study experience in business development, project management, or related field (required).
  • Project or business management experience (advantageous).
  • Willingness to travel internationally (valid passport required).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Adequate IT proficiency.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Professional presentation and corporate dress code.
  • Immediate availability (advantageous).
