Junior Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full HR function including onboarding, contracts, disciplinary processes, and leave management
  • Oversee full payroll function including salaries, EMP201 submissions, and EMP501 biannual reconciliations
  • Prepare and submit VAT201 returns accurately and on time
  • Upload and reconcile bank statements daily
  • Compile creditors files, prepare payment runs and manage supplier queries
  • Prepare debtors statements, manage age analysis, and follow up on outstanding accounts
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Assist in drafting annual financial statements
  • Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers regarding queries, statements, and documentation
  • Perform general administrative and ad-hoc duties as required

Job Experience and Skills Required:

  • Education: Relevant financial qualification advantageous
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in an all-round accounting, payroll, and HR administration role (non-negotiable)
  • Technical:
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP (essential)
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivots, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
  • Experience with SARS eFiling, VAT, PAYE, SDL, UIF, EMP201 & EMP501 submissions
  • Skills:
  • Excellent English communication (verbal & written)
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities
