Head of Projects (HVAC) (VRV/DX) - (PERMANENT)

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of HVAC projects (with focus on VRV, VRF, and DX systems).
• Manage and mentor a team of project managers, site supervisors, and technicians.
• Ensure technical compliance with specifications, drawings, and industry standards.

• Accurately price tenders and quotes, including labour, materials, and subcontractor costs.
• Own the P&L for the Projects division, with clear focus on cost control, cash flow, and margin.
• Manage project budgets, progress claims, variations, and final accounts.

• Implement project management best practices and enforce adherence to timelines and deliverables.
• Conduct regular project reviews, manage risks, and troubleshoot site challenges.
• Ensure seamless coordination with internal departments (procurement, design, service, etc.) and external stakeholders (consultants, clients, subcontractors).

• Minimum 10 years' experience in HVAC industry, with at least 5 years in a senior project role.
• Proven experience delivering VRV/VRF and DX projects in commercial environments.
• Strong track record in project pricing, commercial management, and P&L ownership.
• Excellent knowledge of SANS codes, installation best practices, and OEM requirements.

Preferred:

• Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (Diploma or Degree).
• Exposure to chilled water systems, BMS, or ventilation projects is an advantage.
• Experience in construction/contracting environments with strong documentation and reporting.

• High attention to detail and strong technical acumen
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple fast-moving projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and project costing systems
