Systems Engineer Specialist

What you will be doing:

• Provide specialist technical expertise and support across enterprise infrastructure and systems environments
• Install, configure, test, tune, and optimise hardware, operating systems, and systems software
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex system and infrastructure issues
• Perform system maintenance, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning activities
• Monitor system performance, availability, and reliability to ensure optimal operation
• Support and maintain operating systems, data management products, office automation solutions, and utility software
• Ensure systems adhere to security, compliance, and governance standards
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams to resolve incidents and implement enhancements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, and operational standards
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventative measures to improve system stability
• Support disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity processes
• Participate in system capacity planning and infrastructure improvement initiatives

What we are looking for:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 7+ years experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or Systems Administration
• Strong experience with enterprise operating systems and systems software administration
• Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise systems
• Experience with hardware, storage, and server technologies
• Strong knowledge of system monitoring, performance tuning, and optimisation
• Experience supporting enterprise production environments
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and manage complex technical issues
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Advantageous:

• Experience supporting Robotic Process Automation (RPA) platforms
• Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience with virtualization technologies
• Knowledge of automation and scripting tools
• ITIL certification or service management experience
• Experience within banking or financial services environments
