Financial Manager
We're partnering with a well-established insurance and financial services group seeking a Finance Manager ideally a CA(SA) with about two years' post-articles experience to join their Cape Town head office. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key role within a stable, well-structured business that values professional growth, innovation, and continuous improvement across its finance function.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee financial management of the finance division and guide a team of accountants.
- Review monthly accounting processing, reconciliations, and management reporting.
- Manage cashflow, investments, and approval of payments and collections.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliations of control accounts, balance sheets, and income statements.
- Handle VAT and income tax calculations and submissions.
- Prepare statutory and regulatory returns (FSCA, Prudential Authority, Reserve Bank, SARS, NAMFISA).
- Compile annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors and resolve outstanding reconciling items.
- Drive continuous improvement in systems, processes, and internal controls.
What we are looking for:
- Qualified CA(SA) with 2+ years post-articles experience.
- Exposure to the financial services or short-term insurance industry highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and time management skills.
- Confident communicator and collaborative team player.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with Great Plains, SAP, or Accpac beneficial.
