Junior Fleet Controller

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Fleet Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient management and coordination of our company vehicles, ensuring optimal utilisation, maintenance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily scheduling and dispatching of vehicles.
• Monitor vehicle movements and ensure on-time deliveries and collections.
• Conduct regular vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness and cleanliness.
• Oversee vehicle licensing, renewals, and ensure legal compliance at all times.
• Coordinate breakdown response and manage emergency situations.
• Keep accurate records of vehicle mileage, fuel usage, services, and repairs.
• Monitor driver performance, fuel consumption, and route efficiency.
• Liaise with external service providers for maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare regular fleet reports for management.
• Assist in controlling fleet-related costs and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies within fleet operations.

Requirements:

• Matric certificate
• Proven experience as a Fleet Controller or in a similar logistics/operations role would be advantageous
• Strong organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office.
