A well-established contract truck hire company is seeking an experienced and qualified Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our workshop team.
This position is suited to a highly skilled individual with extensive experience in truck and trailer maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring fleet reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining high workshop standards.
Requirements:
Trade-tested / Qualified Diesel MechanicExtensive experience working on trucks and trailers
Advanced diagnostic and fault-finding abilities
Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance programs
Ability to work independently and under pressure
Leadership and mentoring ability will be advantageousWillingness to be on standby and work overtime when required
Valid driver's licence
Experience within the transport, fleet, or logistics industry will be advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on trucks and trailersConduct advanced fault-finding and diagnostics
Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are adhered to
Attend to breakdowns and emergency repairs when required
Maintain high standards of workmanship and workshop safety
Assist with technical support and guidance to workshop staff
Complete job cards and maintenance records accurately
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations
