Stock Controller & Demand Planner

Stock controller Role Purpose

Ensure accurate inventory levels, proper stock movement, and strong controls across purchasing, warehousing, and dispatch.

• Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular cycle counts
• Reconcile physical stock vs. system records and investigate variances
• Oversee receiving, binning, transfers, and dispatch accuracy
• Track damaged/returned/expired stock
• Prepare stock reports for management
• Implement and enforce stock-control procedures
• Liaise with warehouse, procurement, and finance teams
• Support annual stock audits
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong Excel and inventory system skills (ERP/WMS)
• Analytical, organized, and disciplined
• Integrity and accountability regarding controls
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Effective communication across teams
• 24 years in inventory/warehouse/stock control (retail, FMCG, or distribution ideal)
• Experience with stock reconciliations and audits
• ERP experience (SAP, NetSuite, Odoo, Sage, etc.) preferred
• Matric (required)
• Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Accounting (advantage)
• Stock variance percentage
• Stock write-offs
• Stock accuracy during audits
• Order fulfillment accuracy

Demand Planner Recruitment Requirements

Role Purpose

Forecast demand, align supply plans, and ensure the right stock is available at the right time while minimizing overstock and stock-outs.

• Develop rolling demand forecasts by product, customer, and channel
• Analyze sales trends, seasonality, and promotions
• Align with sales, operations, and procurement on demand plans (S&OP)
• Monitor forecast accuracy and adjust continuously
• Identify risks such as overstock or stock-out and recommend actions
• Build replenishment plans and safety stock guidelines
• Prepare demand reports and dashboards
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
• Advanced Excel and forecasting tools (Power BI advantage)
• Data-driven decision-making
• Commercial awareness (margins, lead times, MOQ, etc.)
• Collaboration and communication across departments
• Scenario planning and modelling mindset
• 35 years in demand planning, forecasting, or supply chain
• Proven work with statistical forecasting and S&OP processes
• Experience in fast-moving or multi-SKU environments
• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Statistics (preferred)
• Forecasting or supply-chain certifications (APICS/CSCP/IBF) are a plus
• Forecast accuracy (MAPE)
• Stock-out rate
• Inventory turnover
• Excess and obsolete inventory levels
