Junior Accountant - Available to start soonest
An established and growing investment and financial services company is seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join their finance team.
This opportunity is suited to a candidate who has completed their articles and is looking to further develop their accounting career within a professional, fast-paced, and growth-focused environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for full accounting functions, reconciliations, reporting, VAT submissions, and assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- Full monthly accounting processing
- Management of debtors, creditors, bank accounts, and inter-company transactions
- Monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations
- Maintenance and management of fixed asset registers
- Investor account administration and monthly interest calculations
- Preparation and submission of VAT reconciliations and returns
- Processing month-end and year-end journals
- Assisting with annual audit requirements
- Preparation of monthly cash flow forecasts
- Ensuring accuracy and compliance across financial records and reporting
- Completed SAIPA, SAICA, CIMA or similar accounting articles
- Relevant Accounting Diploma or Degree
- Minimum 1–3 years' accounting experience
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport advantageous
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of accuracy and accountability
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Professional communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Team player with a positive and professional attitude
