Senior Credit Analyst (CIB)
This role is strictly suited to professionals with current or recent CIB credit risk experience and offers exposure to senior credit committees, highâvalue transactions, and full portfolio ownership.
This role sits within a leading Corporate and Investment Banking environment recognised for strong governance, sophisticated deal structures, and capitalâintensive transactions in the resources and project finance space.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a resources and project finance credit portfolio, delivering highâquality, commercially sound credit assessments, and supporting informed risk decisions at a senior level. This is a VPâlevel position suited to individuals comfortable operating independently in a highâpressure, highâimpact credit environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage credit risk for a defined corporate & investment banking resources & project finance portfolio
- Conduct detailed credit risk assessments using financial, industry, and macroâeconomic analysis
- Prepare and present credit applications and recommendations to credit and risk committees
- Manage the full credit lifecycle, including origination support, implementation, monitoring, and restructuring
- Deliver monthly portfolio risk MI and present insights to senior management
- Monitor covenant compliance, securities, and emerging risks with early identification and escalation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business and specialist stakeholders
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Education (Minimum Requirements):
- Bachelors degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field
- Postgraduate qualification preferred (CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent)
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience within a Corporate & Investment Banking credit risk environment
- Proven exposure to Mining, Project Finance and/or Oil & Gas
- Strong experience across the full credit lifecycle
- Demonstrated exposure presenting to senior credit committees
- Skills:
- Advanced financial modelling and credit assessment capability
- Strong commercial judgement and sector insight
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Proficiency in credit risk systems and Microsoft Office
- NonâNegotiables:
- Current or recent Corporate & Investment Banking credit risk experience
- Resources / Project Finance sector exposure
- Ability to operate independently at a senior / VP level
