Electrical Design Engineer (Electrical Engineering & Automation Industry)

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and coordinate electrical designs for industrial and mining projects.
- Prepare design specifications, scopes of work, bill of quantities, and tender documentation.
- Design and specify:
- MCCs (IEC 61439)
- Substations
- Lighting and small power systems
- Cable racking systems
- Transformers and electrical equipment
- Perform cable sizing, equipment selection, layout design, and heat-rise calculations.
- Ensure compliance with SANS, OHS Act, MHS Act, and relevant international standards.
- Liaise with clients and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide detailed design documentation to support manufacturing, software engineering, and implementation phases.
Minimum Requirements:
- Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- Proven electrical design experience within industrial plants, mining, or heavy industry.
- Strong knowledge of MCC design (IEC 61439), substations, power distribution, and industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with electrical design software and engineering standards.
- Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems.
- Exposure to mining projects preferred.
- Pr Eng registration advantageous
- Willing and able to travel to project sites when required.
