Production Manager: Pharmacist

A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing environment based in Sandringham is seeking an experienced Production Manager: Pharmacist for a 6-month fixed-term contract.

This role is responsible for managing pharmaceutical production operations to ensure the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective manufacture of anti-venom products in accordance with GMP, SAHPRA/MCC, and pharmaceutical industry standards.

The successful candidate will oversee production processes, quality assurance implementation, equipment maintenance, asset management, and staff supervision while ensuring compliance with OHSA and aseptic processing requirements.

Requirements:

• B.Pharm degree
• Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council
• Minimum 6 years’ pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
• At least 1 year experience in aseptic processing
• 2 years supervisory experience within pharmaceutical production
• Strong knowledge of GMP, sterilization methods, validations, and OHSA requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage pharmaceutical production operations and output
• Ensure GMP and QA compliance across production processes
• Oversee equipment calibration and maintenance
• Manage consumables, assets, and Capex requirements
• Compile SOPs and production documentation
• Lead, coach, and develop production staff
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards
