RB 17645 - Lead Mechanical Design Engineer (Petrochemical) - Durban

Our client is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting firm.

• Provide support to the engineering team in the execution of projects at various locations in Durban and around Southern Africa.
• Leadership position within the design environment available to qualifying candidates with a passion for Mechanical/Rotating Equipment/Fluids/Compressible Gas (LNG, LPG, ASME, etc.) first principal designs.

• BSc / BEng Mechanical or BTech
• ECSA Registration as a Professional Engineer is essential

• A minimum of 10 years experience experience on petrochemical/oil & gas projects in an EPCM/Consulting engineering environment
• Excellent understanding of national and international petroleum/gas standard and regulations (NFPA, API, SANS, etc.)
• Proficient in AFT Fathom, AFT Impulse
• Working knowledge of Autocad in order to direct Drafting staff accordingly
• Able to interact with customers at all levels, especially Technical Leads from Client companies.
• Have a better than average academic record, especially in the fields of Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Computational Fluid Dynamics and Stress Analysis
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written in English
