An exciting opportunity has become available for a skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to join a dynamic and fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives on accuracy, analysis, and driving financial performance, particularly within stock-intensive operations.
You will play a critical role in overseeing financial and stock reporting processes, ensuring alignment across systems, and providing key insights to support strategic decision-making.
This role is based in Isando, Johannesburg East.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock & Inventory Reporting:
- Manage and process stock-related journal entries and adjustments
- Ensure alignment between inventory systems and accounting records
- Participate in monthly stock takes and support variance analysis
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and valuation issues
- Maintain accurate costing of inventory and resolve pricing inconsistencies
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee monthly management accounts with a focus on product performance
- Analyse gross profit margins and financial trends
- Prepare monthly working capital and labour cost calculations
- Manage rebate calculations, claims, and distribution allowances
- Assist with budgeting processes and financial planning
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and support audit requirements
- Operational & Commercial Support:
- Review and approve pricing, product listings, and trading terms
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve financial and pricing queries
- Conduct daily sales and pricing analysis
- Support internal teams with financial insights and reporting needs
- Maintain and update key financial documentation and agreements
Job Experience and Skills Required:
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 58 years experience in a similar Financial Controller role
- Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting principles
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems proficiency
