Junior Mechanical Engineer (Mineral Processing)

Location: Gauteng

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the design and development of mechanical equipment used in mineral processing plants (e.g. conveyors, crushers, mills, screens, pumps, and piping systems)
• Support senior engineers with technical drawings, layouts, and 3D modelling
• Participate in project execution from concept through to commissioning
• Conduct site visits for inspections, data collection, and troubleshooting
• Assist with maintenance planning, equipment upgrades, and performance optimisation
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including process, electrical, and project engineers
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and engineering best practices
• Compile technical reports, documentation, and specifications

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering
• 02 years experience in a mechanical or industrial environment (mineral processing exposure advantageous)
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Inventor, or AutoCAD)
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems, materials handling, and plant equipment
• Strong problem-solving ability and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to sites when required

Desired Skills:

• Exposure to mining or mineral processing environments
• Understanding of fabrication processes and equipment maintenance
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and standards
