A skilled and hands-on Maintenance Technician is required to plan, coordinate, and execute maintenance activities within a manufacturing/industrial environment. The role focuses on the active repair, servicing, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency, compliance, and safety.

The successful candidate will work closely with production and support teams to minimise downtime and maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, schedule, and carry out preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
  • Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance on machinery and equipment.
  • Manage and close maintenance work orders from initiation to completion.
  • Ensure availability of tools, spares, and resources required for maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with external contractors and service providers when required.
  • Monitor maintenance costs and support budget control.
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety, legal, and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports, and equipment history.
Key Performance Areas
  • Equipment availability and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Mean time between failures (MTBF) and mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • Preventative and planned maintenance compliance.
  • Maintenance cost control and efficiency.
  • Reduction of emergency and unplanned maintenance.
Systems & Software
  • Experience with CMMS systems for work orders and maintenance planning.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in a maintenance technician or maintenance coordination role.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance background.
  • Sound knowledge of safety regulations and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a production-driven environment.
