Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for statutory reporting, financial compliance, balance sheet integrity, audit support, and financial governance, ensuring the business operates within sound financial control frameworks while supporting commercial and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparation of statutory financial statements and regulatory reporting
• Month-end close processes and financial reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts
• Audit preparation, coordination, and support
• Tax compliance support (VAT, PAYE, corporate tax)
• Fixed asset management and depreciation
• Financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks
• IFRS compliance and reporting standards
• Support internal and external audit processes
• Process improvements and reporting efficiencies

Job Experience & Skills Required (Ideal Candidate Profile):

• BCom Accounting / Financial Accounting
• 35 years experience in a Financial Accountant role
• Experience within mining
• Strong technical accounting and IFRS knowledge
• Audit and statutory reporting experience
• Advanced Excel and reporting skills
• ERP system experience
• Strong attention to detail and financial accuracy
• High compliance and governance orientation
• Ability to work in regulated, deadline-driven environments
• Strong documentation and control mindset
