Position Overview:
Our client, a well-established and reputable General Practitioner based in Pretoria East, is looking to appoint a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join their dedicated team. This full-day role is ideal for a candidate with experience in medical administration and a strong passion for delivering excellent patient service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer and manage calls via the practice switchboard professionally.
- Schedule and manage patient appointments using Elixir Live, including coordinating external referrals.
- Monitor and respond to emails received via the practice’s administrative email account.
- Send appointment reminders (calls and SMS) to patients.
- Greet patients warmly and collect personal and medical information.
- Process payments and issue receipts electronically.
- Maintain both electronic and physical filing systems.
- Coordinate and manage medical aid authorisations.
- Complete and submit PMB application forms and other relevant medical aid documentation.
- Perform general administrative and reception duties as required by the employer.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Professional, courteous, and able to work well under pressure.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Non-smoker.
Requirements:
- Matric certificate (Grade 12).
- Previous experience working in a medical practice.
- Experience in debtors accounts/medical billing (follow up on outstanding accounts and co-payments)
- Proficiency in Elixir Live software (Essential)
- Fluent in at least two languages (bilingual).
- Tertiary education in a related field will be advantageous but is not mandatory.
Working Hours:
- Monday – Friday: 08H00 – 17H00
- R 13 000.00 – R 15 000.00 CTC per month – depending on experience.
