Aspire Recruiting are recruiting for a highly capable Senior Technical Specialist. This critical role is dedicated to overseeing the maintenance and optimal performance of high-volume end-of-line packaging infrastructure. If you possess advanced mechanical fault-finding capabilities and excel at coordinating technical teams within a fast-paced production facility, this executive placement offers a robust and dynamic career opportunity.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Technical Team Coordination: Direct and coordinate designated technical personnel to ensure the continuous upkeep, servicing, and reliability of all departmental machinery and equipment.
  • Preventative Inspections: Execute rigorous, daily routine assessments across both automated and manual systems to guarantee the plant runs consistently at peak operational capacity.
  • Fault Resolution & Repairs: Lead advanced troubleshooting and conduct immediate daily breakdown repairs on all automated and manual packaging assets, guided by precise fault-finding techniques.
  • Performance Optimisation: Actively monitor and fine-tune automated systems to ensure all machinery operates continuously at its most optimal level.
  • Inventory & Procurement: Proactively track critical spare parts inventory, report stock depletions to senior leadership, and initiate the procurement of required replacement components.
  • After-Hours Support: Provide dedicated, on-call technical support to promptly attend to and resolve critical mechanical breakdowns outside of standard operating hours.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A valid Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate) or a formally recognised NQF Level 4 equivalent is strictly required.
  • A formal National Diploma in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Maintenance will be viewed as a highly advantageous asset.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in technical industrial maintenance.
  • Prior exposure to and intimate knowledge of grain-specific automated processing and packaging machinery will serve as a distinct strategic advantage.
