Millwright

The role requires strong mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure maximum equipment uptime, production efficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards within a high-volume production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on SMT and production machinery (pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, wave soldering equipment, etc.)
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation system faults
• Carry out precision alignment, calibration, and setup of manufacturing equipment
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise production downtime
• Replace or repair faulty components and systems as required

• Assist with installation, commissioning, and setup of new machinery and equipment
• Ensure proper integration of equipment into existing production lines
• Support equipment upgrades and automation improvements

• Maintain plant infrastructure including electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and general utilities
• Conduct routine inspections of facility systems and implement corrective actions
• Support general building maintenance including lighting, roofing, and structural repairs

• Execute scheduled preventative maintenance programmes
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment history, and service records
• Monitor spare parts usage and assist with inventory control
• Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented and compliant

• Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and ESD standards
• Conduct equipment safety checks and identify potential hazards
• Ensure safe working practices in all maintenance activities
• Support compliance with ISO and manufacturing quality standards

• Work closely with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues
• Provide technical support to operators and junior maintenance staff
• Assist in identifying process improvements to increase efficiency
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives

• Trade Tested Millwright (Red Seal preferred)
• 35+ years experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic fault-finding skills
• Experience within electronic manufacturing / SMT environment advantageous
• Solid understanding of PLCs and automation systems (advantageous)
• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting ability
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations
• Ability to work shifts or overtime when required
