Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the Mechanical Design and Controls Design teams
• Oversee machine design, development, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Drive Research & Development projects aimed at improving machine efficiency, performance, and cost savings
• Manage project timelines, budgets, costings, and resource allocation
• Review and approve engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications
• Assist production and assembly teams with technical problem-solving and root-cause analysis
• Manage customer technical requirements, upgrades, retrofits, and spares projects
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to ensure successful project execution
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, health & safety regulations, and company procedures
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers and internal teams
• Train, mentor, and support engineering staff and interns
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements
• Support business growth through innovation, product development, and improved engineering solutions

Requirements:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering field
• Minimum 35 years experience in a similar engineering management role
• Previous experience managing engineering or technical teams
• Strong project management and budgeting experience
• Solid understanding of manufacturing, machine design, automation, and production processes
• Proficient in CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD
• Strong technical, mechanical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively under pressure
• Willingness to travel when required
