Master Artisan – Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct fault-finding, diagnostics, repairs, and overhauls on diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on locomotives, rolling stock, or heavy diesel machinery.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards at all times.
• Maintain accurate records of all work performed and parts used.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to Junior Artisans and Apprentices.

Requirements:

• Recognised Artisan qualification (Diesel Mechanic / Fitter & Turner / Millwright) with Master Artisan status.
• Minimum of 5 years post-trade experience, preferably within rail, mining, or heavy engineering environments.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related systems.
• Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays when required.
• A proactive, safety-conscious, and quality-driven approach.
