Operational Risk Manager – Asset Management / Investment Operations Johannesburg | Asset Management Industry Experience Required

Were looking for an experienced Operational Risk Manager with hands-on exposure to South African investment management or asset management operations. This role is perfect for someone who understands fund structures, investment mandates, administrators, custodians and regulatory obligations, and who thrives on turning risk insight into practical, well-embedded controls.

Youll partner with senior leadership, investment teams, operations, legal and external service providers to manage operational risks, monitor incidents, strengthen governance, and report meaningfully to committees and Exco.

• Own and enhance the Operational Risk Management Framework, including risk registers, RCSAs and KRIs
• Lead incident, breach and remediation processes, including root cause analysis and corrective action
• Review investment management agreements, SLAs and outsourcing contracts from an operational risk perspective
• Conduct operational due diligence on key service providers
• Prepare risk dashboards and committee reporting
• Champion a high-risk in the business

• 5+ years in asset management, investment administration or pension fund administration
• Proven experience with operational risk frameworks, incident management, governance and regulatory compliance
• Relevant degree in Finance, Risk, Business, Law or related field; postgrad or professional certifications (FRM, CFA, CIA, CISA) advantageous
• Strong stakeholder management and reporting skills
