Gardener Supervisor

The Delaire Graff Estate is looking for a Gardener Supervisor that will be responsible for the daily operations of the gardening services & to assist the Gardens Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure all equipment is maintained regularly to provide safe and optimal performance
• Regularly check the quality of work being done by employees
• Keep records of incoming and outgoing parts as required
• Allocate tasks according to individual abilities
• Knowledge of gardening techniques.
• Knowledge of plant and flower care techniques.
• Maintain all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
• Ability to use professional mowing, trimming and pruning equipment
• Monitor and maintain the health of plants
• Deal with pest problems that could damage plants
• Keep gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter

REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 - 3 years’ experience as a Gardener Supervisor
• Valid drivers licence
• Familiarity with landscaping design
• Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
• Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them
• Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers
• Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping
• The ability to lift heavy objects
• The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
• A love of the outdoors and plant life
• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks
• Excellent high level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Must be honest and trustworthy
• Good interpersonal skills and communication skills
