Senior Financial Accountant - PE

A market leader in the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a dynamic, hands-on and commercially astute Senior Financial Accountant to join its finance team!
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the successful individual will take ownership of the full accounting function, implement cost-saving initiatives, provide leadership to the finance department, and ensure sound financial controls, compliance and reporting across the business.
Key Responsibilities- Month-end and year-end financial processes
- Preparation of management accounts and budgets
- Cash flow forecasting and payment planning
- Fixed asset management and tax schedules
- Foreign currency/exchange control exposure and SARB applications
- VAT calculations and SARS submissions
- Internal audits and risk management
- Cost-saving initiatives and financial analysis (Opex/Variable costings)
- General ledger reconciliations and journal entries
- Supplier consignment stock reconciliations
- Financial year-end audit preparation
- Day-to-day management of the finance department
- Supervision and development of a team of five staff members
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications- BCom Accounting, BCompt Accounting Sciences, CIMA or ACCA qualification.
- Minimum 12 years'' practical experience in a similar role.
- Proven experience within a manufacturing environment is essential.
- Strong exposure to foreign currency transactions and exchange control requirements.
- Previous experience supervising finance staff.
- Sage 200 Evolution Version 10 (non-negotiable).
- Xperdyte manufacturing system advantageous.
- AssetZure fixed asset software advantageous.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Lookups and Macros.
- Intermediate MS Office proficiency.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Able to work in a structured environment.
- Willing to work additional hours during month-end, budget and audit periods when required.
