The Enterprise Risk Manager - Lending Portfolio, provides 2nd line risk oversight for the bank’s lending products, including Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), BNPL and related lending offerings as well as risk oversight on any other risk types that may be required.

The role operates as a generalist Enterprise Risk Manager with deep lending and credit risk expertise, supporting sustainable growth by ensuring that lending and other risks are appropriately identified, challenged, and managed across the full credit lifecycle and within other areas of responsibility.

The role will leverage automation and AI-enabled tools to drive efficient, scalable risk oversight, reducing reliance on manual processes and enabling stronger, forward-looking risk insight.

Requirements

Experience and Skills Required:

Essential
  • Undergraduate degree in Risk, Finance, Credit, Economics, Accounting or related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in banking or financial services risk management
  • Strong experience in credit or lending risk, preferably in a 2nd line role
  • AI and Data Analytics proficiency

Demonstrated exposure to one or more of:

  • Personal Loans, Credit Cards, Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), BNPL or unsecured lending products
  • Strong understanding of credit lifecycle risks (origination, underwriting, servicing, collections, impairment)
  • Strong understanding experience of operational risk management and the ability to identify and mitigate risks appropriately.
  • Proven ability to challenge business decisions constructively and influence outcomes
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Advantageous
  • Experience supporting new lending products
  • Exposure to risk automation, analytics, or AI-enabled tooling
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery environments

Responsibilities:

  • Enterprise risk management
  • Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework
  • Ensure risk and control self-assessments, key risk indicators, issue management, and risk registers are maintained for areas of Responsibility
  • Review and challenge business owners on the adequacy of controls and risk mitigation plans
  • Escalate material risks and concerns to the Head of Enterprise Risk and CRO in a timely manner
  • Perform root cause analysis and lessons-learnt reviews on risk events
  • Help evolve risk practices and the risk framework to ensure that it is fit for purpose and aligned to the business processes and structure.
  • Manage one’s own development through self-development initiatives and efforts.
  • Manage Supplier risks for the bank in line with regulatory requirements and internal risk framework.
  • Automation, Data & AI-Enabled Risk Practices
  • Use and leverage Data, Automation and AI tools to scale risk oversight efficiently and support faster, better-informed risk oversight.
  • Lending risk oversight
  • Provide independent 2nd line oversight and challenge across the lending portfolio (PLs, Credit Cards, MCA, BNPL, and related products).
  • Review and challenge Lending /collections strategies, processes, policy changes, product enhancements, and partner arrangements
  • Support risk assessments for new lending products and initiatives, material portfolio changes and strategic lending partnerships.
  • Ensure lending risks are appropriately identified, controlled, documented, and escalated where required through robust reviews.
  • Provide oversight of regulatory reporting for lending products.
Governance, reporting & stakeholder engagement
  • Ensure clear, concise risk reporting for lending portfolios
  • Maintain close engagement with lending stakeholders and partners
  • Engagement and alignment with group/related banks stakeholders
  • Participate in and support risk forums, committees, and governance structures
  • Provide risk input into decision-making while enabling speed of execution
  • Support combined assurance activities in collaboration with Compliance and Internal Audit
