The Assistant Accountant supports the finance department by maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of reports, and ensuring compliance with internal controls. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to financial operations.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Maintain general ledger entries and reconcile accounts
• Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoice verification and payment tracking
• Support budget preparation and variance analysis
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Assist with VAT returns and other statutory filings
• Liaise with external auditors and support audit processes
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Prepare journal entries and ensure proper documentation
• Respond to internal and external queries regarding financial transactions

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Pastel)
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
