Minimum Job Requirements:

• Apprenticeship completed at registered provider.
• Trade Tested Millwright.
• N3+ in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Sugar industry experience essential.
• Packaging equipment experience, particularly liquid packaging.
• Experience with fault-finding and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Experience with electrical fault-finding and maintenance of electrical equipment and circuits.
• Understanding of industrial instrumentation; PLCs and SCADA systems.
• SAP training and experience, a strong advantage.

Reporting to the Plant Manager:

• Inspect plant equipment and report defects.
• Maintain mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Liaise with operations to plan equipment maintenance.
• Supervise staff (Assistants, Artisans).
• Liaise with external service providers to procure goods and services.
• Supervise external service providers when on-site.
• Review and action maintenance requests on SAP.

Key Skills:

• Understanding of safety systems (lock-out/solation, risk assessments).
• Working in food industry and FSSC compliant industry.
• Good communication skills.
• Problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Good organisational and administrative skills.
