Accountant (with Payroll function)
Communicate Recruitment Cape Town
Perform the full accounting function up to management accounts pack level
Manage the cashbook, bank uploads, and monthly bank reconciliations, resolving reconciling items timeously
Prepare and reconcile subâledgers and general ledger accounts
Process financial transactions within the ERP system
Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and prepare cash flow forecasts
Open and close accounting periods in the ERP system
Manage endâtoâend payroll processing, including salary calculations, payments, payslips, reimbursements, and leave administration
Prepare, submit, and ensure payment of all statutory returns (PAYE, VAT, UIF, SDL, COIDA, ROE, STATS SA, IT14SD, CEB01)
Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, insurers, advisors, company secretarial firms, and SARS.
Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting schedules for local and international review
Support SOX compliance reporting, audit processes, and maintain effective internal controls
Proven payroll administration experience, covering monthly payroll processing cycles and all related statutory submissions
Exposure to Claude AI
Experience working with Oracle ERP or a similar mid-tier ERP solution
Working knowledge of Pastel Payroll.
Experience working in a multinational organisation with foreign currency transactions

Skills & Experience: At least 35 years post-qualification experience in Accounting
Experience with South African statutory compliance, including SARS eFiling for PAYE, VAT, IT14SD, SDL/UIF, as well as Return of Earnings and STATS SA submissionsProven payroll administration experience, covering monthly payroll processing cycles and all related statutory submissions
Exposure to Claude AI
Experience working with Oracle ERP or a similar mid-tier ERP solution
Working knowledge of Pastel Payroll.
Experience working in a multinational organisation with foreign currency transactions
Exposure to SOX compliance requirements or experience within a listed group environment
Qualification: BCom Accounting or equivalent
Completed SAIPA/CIMA articles beneficial
