Medical Practice Manager / Medical Receptionist
- Manage the practice diary, appointments, telephone calls and WhatsApp communication.
- Welcome patients and provide professional and compassionate front-desk assistance.
- Ensure reception and patient areas remain organised and professionally maintained.
- Manage debtors, creditors, payments and financial transactions using Elixir Live.
- Follow up on outstanding accounts, invoices and medical aid payments.
- Assist with month-end journals, reconciliations and account balancing.
- Arrange and manage hospital admission authorisations, scan authorisations and other medical-related approvals.
- Liaise with hospitals, medical aids, patients and healthcare providers.
- Manage stationery, office supplies and general practice requirements.
- Provide PA and administrative support to the doctor.
- Assist with occasional driving, errands and practical tasks required for the efficient running of the practice.
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Medical Practice Manager, Senior Medical Administrator or similar.
- Experience working within a medical or specialist practice environment.
- Good understanding of medical aid processes, authorisations and claims administration.
- Strong financial administration experience, including debtors, creditors and account follow-ups.
- Experience with Elixir Live would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent organisational, administrative and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional, confident and personable communication skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organised in a busy medical environment.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality.
- Valid driver's licence and own reliable transport are essential.
- Ideally residing in Durbanville or the surrounding Northern Suburbs, preferably within approximately 510 km of Durbanville.
- Available to commence employment by 1 October 2026, preferably sooner.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be mature, energetic, dependable and highly organised, with the ability to take ownership of the administration and daily functioning of a busy medical practice.
You should be comfortable dealing with patients, doctors, hospitals, medical aids and financial administration while ensuring that appointments, accounts, authorisations and practice requirements are handled accurately and efficiently.
A professional yet approachable manner, discretion, initiative and the ability to keep multiple moving parts under control will be essential.
Salary: R22 000 R28 000 per month, dependent on experience and suitability for the role.
