The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods, managing stock control, and leading a team of warehouse staff to meet operational targets safely and effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warehouse Operations:
- Plan, organize, and supervise all warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Ensure efficient workflow and adherence to operational procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Implement stock rotation practices (FIFO/LIFO).
- Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff.
- Develop staff performance plans and conduct performance reviews.
- Ensure team compliance with health, safety, and security procedures.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Maintain a safe working environment and ensure adherence to occupational health and safety regulations.
- Conduct safety audits and report incidents.
- Logistics & Coordination:
- Coordinate with suppliers, transport companies, and internal departments for smooth operations.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods and optimize delivery schedules.
- Reporting & Administration:
- Prepare and submit warehouse reports, KPIs, and performance metrics.
- Manage budgets, costs, and resources effectively.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning abilities.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and MS Office.
- Understanding of inventory management and logistics processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum: National Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 35 years in warehouse operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/management role.
- Experience with ERP or WMS systems is preferred.
- Forklift license advantageous.
