Job Description
Our client is seeking an admitted attorney to take ownership of an existing litigation function and lead it with a high level of independence. This is a hands-on role suited to a commercially minded litigator who is confident managing matters from inception through to finalisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a diverse litigation portfolio spanning commercial disputes, property-related matters, collections and a significant volume of community scheme work, including CSOS-related disputes, governance issues, evictions and related litigation.
This is a leadership opportunity with the ability to grow into a more senior, revenue-driving role within the firm over time.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing litigation matters independently from inception to finalisation
- Drafting pleadings, applications, legal opinions and court documentation
- Handling court appearances in both Magistrates Court and High Court
- Managing a varied caseload including commercial, property and community scheme disputes
- Taking ownership of a litigation portfolio
- Liaising directly with clients, bodies corporate, HOAs and stakeholders
- Ensuring efficient case progression and adherence to deadlines
- Contributing to business growth through a commercially driven approach
- Admitted Attorney (essential)
Skills
The successful candidate will have:
- 2 4 years post-admission litigation experience
- Strong litigation background with hands-on court experience
- Ability to independently manage matters from inception to finalisation
- Exposure to Magistrates Court and High Court proceedings
- Experience in community schemes (Bodies Corporate / HOAs / CSOS-related matters)
- Exposure to property-related litigation and/or collections
- Commercially minded with an interest in building a client base over time
- Strong litigation and drafting ability
- High level of independence and accountability
- Commercially driven and entrepreneurial mindset
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines
- Self-starter with strong leadership potential
- Commission-based incentive structure
