SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality) Coordinator

Direct Reports to: General Manager

Role Purpose

The coordinator will play a key role in fostering a safe and quality-driven workplace culture across all operations.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal departments to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and quality excellence. Keep abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices, advising management accordingly.

• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the companys SHEQ policies, procedures and programs.
• Monitor compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality standards across all operational areas.
• Conduct regular site inspections audits and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective acrions are implemented.
• Support ISO 9001:2015 QMS processes including documentation control, internal audits, management reviews and continuous improvement.
• Investigate incidents, near misses and non-conformances and compile detailed reports with recommendations.
• Maintain accurate SHEQ records, reports and metrics for management review.
• Facilitate SHEQ training and awareness programs for all employees.
• Collaborate with internal departments to promote a culture of safety, compliance, and quality excellence.
• Keep abreast of legislative changes and industry best practices, advising management accordingly.
• Provide the Sales Team with quality support on orders, material certificates, and ad-hoc internal inspections.

• National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in a SHEQ role, preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Practical experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001:2015 QMS.
• Knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards is advantageous.
• Understanding of relevant local health, safety, environmental and quality legislation.

• Strong knowledge of SHEQ principles, risk management, and incident investigation.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively train and influence employees at all levels.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and document control systems.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

• Reduction in incidents, accidents and non-conformances.

Working Hours:

• Monday Thursday: 07:30 17:00
• Friday: 07:30 14:00

Remuneration:

• Basic salary between R 12 000.00 R 15 000.00 + KPI commission (details discussed during the interview).
