Tanker Technician / Diesel Mechanic

Key Responsibilities
- Service, inspect, diagnose and repair diesel trucks, chemical tankers and specialised tanker equipment.
- Conduct brake tests, valve tests, final inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic and electrical faults.
- Repair, overhaul and recondition tanker loading and offloading valves.
- Inspect and repair cryogenic tankers, motors and pumps.
- Perform tanker modifications and repairs using MIG and TIG welding.
- Conduct annual barrel tests, barrel thickness tests and oversee three-yearly AIA inspections.
- Attend breakdowns promptly and provide regular repair updates to Operations and the Workshop Manager.
- Supervise third-party repairs and ensure required quality-control standards are maintained.
- Complete job cards, repair reports and maintenance records accurately.
- Control workshop stock, including issuing parts and supporting procurement.
- Maintain strict health, safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Workshop Manager.
