Our client, a Stellenbosch-based leading payment aggregator and provider of secure payment solutions, is looking for a Software Development Team Manager to lead a team of software developers in an Agile environment, . The role focuses on team performance, process optimisation, recruitment of new developers, and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing a team of developers, including performance reviews and career development.
- Overseeing resource allocation, workload balancing, and onboarding/offboarding.
- Managing developer recruitment in collaboration with Senior Developers and HR.
- Ensuring effective communication with project managers and stakeholders.
- Providing technical expertise to support and uphold work estimation and delivery commitments.
- Supervising code reviews, testing, and Agile processes.
- Serving as an escalation point for team challenges.
- Driving continuous improvement and Agile best practices.
- All other tasks related to the position.
- Tertiary qualifications in software development, computer science, or engineering.
- Proven experience managing technical teams in software development.
- Strong technical background to support estimation, decisions, and recruitment.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and collaboration skills.
- Experience in performance management or recruitment is an advantage.
Very beneficial:
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot Framework
