Training Officer

Qualifications:

• Registered Assessor and Moderator (required)
• National Certificate / Diploma in Occupationally Directed Education, Training & Development (NQF Level 5 advantageous)
• National Certificate: Professional Driving (advantageous)
• Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) (advantageous)

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years experience in training and development
• Proven experience managing trainers or a training team
• Strong background in driver training within transport/logistics
• Knowledge of TETA/SETA compliance frameworks
• Strong leadership, discipline, and organisational ability
• Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to work in a high-pressure environment
• Valid drivers licence and own transport

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee daily operations of the Driver Training Centre
• Lead, supervise, and develop Driver Trainers
• Plan training schedules and allocate training responsibilities
• Deliver and coordinate driver training programmes (induction, defensive driving, safety, fuel efficiency, etc.)
• Conduct training needs analysis and skills audits
• Ensure compliance with TETA/SETA accreditation and legislative requirements
• Oversee assessments, moderation, and approval of Portfolios of Evidence (POEs)
• Compile Workplace Skills Plans (WSP) and Annual Training Reports (ATR)
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and induction of drivers
• Monitor driver performance and implement corrective training interventions
• Maintain training records, reports, KPIs, and compliance documentation
• Manage training budgets, resources, and reporting
• Liaise with HR, operations, and compliance teams to align training with operational needs
• Drive continuous improvement within the training centre and elevate performance standards
