Technical Sales Engineer

Client is well-established leader in the engineering and manufacturing sector, is seeking a driven and technically minded Technical Sales Engineer to join their dynamic team.This exciting opportunity is ideal for a sales professional with a technical background who is passionate about identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and driving business growth within the mining, industrial, and engineering sectors.
Key Requirementsâ Matric (Grade 12) essential
â Relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, Business, or a related field will be advantageous
â Trade qualification, preferably Mechanical, will be highly advantageous
â A diploma or degree in Chemical Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering will be advantageous
â Fully bilingual in Afrikaans and English (verbal and written)
â Communication skills: Strong interpersonal, presentation and writing abilities.
â Valid driver's licence and own reliable transportâ Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft 365 and CRM
â Problem-solving skills: Ability to analyse customer needs and provide tailored technical solutions
Experience Requiredâ Proven experience in lead generation, business development, or technical sales
â Technical sales experience within the chemical / metallurgical engineering, manufacturing, mining, or industrial sectors will be advantageousâ Experience working with mining houses, EPCM/project houses, consulting engineers, and industrial clients will be highly beneficial
â Knowledge of mining equipment, magnetic separators, coal centrifuges, heavy media drums or related mining separation equipment will be advantageous
â Established industry network and ability to identify project opportunities will be an added advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and qualify new business opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Conduct market research and identify potential projects.
- Arrange and attend client meetings and presentations.
- Follow up on quotations, tenders, and sales opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams to ensure solutions and excellent customer service and project delivery.
- Achieve agreed sales and business development targets
- Drive the sales process, from prospecting and client meetings to contract negotiation and closing.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product developments, and competitor activity.
- Tender compilation and submission.
- Cold calling and Market research.
