Chief Financial Officer

• Take full ownership of the South African finance function, remaining hands‑on and involved in both strategic and operational financial matters.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial planning to support sustainable growth and sound decision making.
• Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting to local leadership and European headquarters in compliance with IFRS and Group standards.
• Drive continuous improvement of finance processes, systems, and controls, including the implementation of accounting software and automation.
• Act as a trusted financial advisor to the Board and shareholders, providing practical, commercially focused insights.
• Manage banking relationships, funding structures, and working capital, including negotiation of credit facilities.
• Oversee core finance operations including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and statutory compliance.
• Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies in line with South African regulations.
• Work closely and collaboratively with operational and commercial teams in a non‑hierarchical, entrepreneurial environment.
• Support strategic initiatives and growth opportunities, including financial due diligence for partnerships or joint ventures.
• Serve as the key finance link between the South African business and the European parent company.

• Qualified CA(SA) is essential with 10+ years progressive post article experience
• Significant senior financial leadership experience, preferably within import, distribution, retail.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial controls, statutory compliance, and South African tax regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, implement systems, and improve finance processes.
• Enjoys mentoring and developing people
• Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial data into strategic insights.
• Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage at Board and Group level.
• Experience working with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders.
