Job Description

Our client who is based in Capte Town has an opportunity for a Production Manager. The successful incumbent will be responsible for the following:

• Manufacture of conforming products: Ensured the production of high-quality products within the specified cost, time, and manpower requirements
• Staff management: managed a team of employees
• Production planning and scheduling
• Process optimization: Monitored and controlled production processes to maximize efficiency and minimize rejects/reworks, aiming to maintain an Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) above 70%
• Budget management: Manage production budgets and controlled production costs to ensure efficient resource allocation
• Compliance with food safety and quality standards: Ensure adherence to food safety and quality standards, as well as regulatory requirements. Maintain certifications such as FSSC 22000
• Safety protocols and procedures: Implemented and enforced safety protocols and practices to create a safe working environment for employees
• Standard operating procedures (SOPs): Develop and maintained SOPs for production processes, ensuring standardized and efficient workflows
• Reporting and performance analysis:
• Cross-departmental collaboration: Collaborated with other departments, including quality, new product development, engineering, procurement, and logistics, to ensure smooth production flow and effective communication
• Any other related duties

Qualifications

Matric

Degree/Diploma in Operations Management

Skills

10 years experience in the FMCG environment

Should come from the Food Manufacturing environment

Good Planning and Organisation Skills
