Senior HR Compliance Specialist, HR Labor and Employment Compliances - Amazon Stores & Corporate Biz.
The incumbent will partner with HR and business teams to assess employment and labor practices & policies and act as a trusted partner to support business and people strategies in compliance with local/regional laws. The incumbent will manage administrative, statutory and advisory services on matters pertaining to labor and employment HR Compliances in partnership with AET (HR Services) and other HR CoE functions.
Key job responsibilities
Key job responsibilities will include but not limited to:- Liaison with internal / external legal counsel to drive HR Compliance charter
- Manage labor/employment inspections and audits
- Prepare, track and report HR Compliance status in the region
- Manage labor dept. engagements managing statutory reporting, certifications, renewals and associated labor matters.
- Work with regional stakeholders like compensation, benefits, payroll , AET in order to ensure HR policy and process compliances
- Draft written narratives to communicate obligations, risk analyses, and recommendations to HR policy/ process/ system owners and senior stakeholders.
- Understand the impact of labor law changes on various internal policies and process
- Ability to own and analyze data to identify potential business impacts
- Collaborate with corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
- Monitor known and emerging risks, measure internal control effectiveness, and develop and own action items to remediate identified risk issue
About the team
HR Labor and Employment Compliance team supports India, China, Australia and other South-East Asia and ASEAN countries. We are gradually increasing our remit to LATAM and Africa. This team works closely with regional HR leaders, Labor & Employment Counsel, G&A functions and use our expertise and deep understanding of local employment laws and practices to maintain a compliant posture in the region - Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Program Management, Human Resources, Employment Law, Computer Science, Finance, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Operations Research or a related field- Extensive experience in HR domain, employment / labor practices, HR CoE roles, Labor & Employment roles
- Strong business and HR acumen, including strong problem solving skills, critical thinking, and self-initiative
- Success in creating, driving and effective program management skills
- High proficiency in written and verbal English, high quality document and report preparation
- Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities- Knowledge of local labor law
- Ability to influence and partner with different levels of the organization to achieve results
- Good interpersonal skills
