Role Overview
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for the performance of the Gauteng division, overseeing operations, financial management, business development, sales, and a mechanical workshop specialising in container modifications and conversions.This position reports directly to the Managing Director.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a technically strong individual with excellent commercial and financial acumen. The successful candidate will lead a team of approximately 43 employees while driving operational excellence, profitability, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic direction and execution of the Gauteng operation.
- Manage the container rental business and workshop operations.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial performance.
- Drive business growth and market penetration initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 43 employees.
- Ensure operational performance aligns with financial and growth objectives.
- Identify customer needs and drive product innovation initiatives.
- Oversee container modification and conversion projects from concept to completion.
- Foster a culture of accountability, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with financial management to ensure profitability and effective capital deployment.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Non-Negotiable)
- Minimum 8 years' experience in small business or operational management.
- Proven leadership experience within an industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technical environment.
- Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
- Demonstrated commercial and business development skills.
- Ability to interpret technical and operational information and make sound business decisions.
- Strong people management and team leadership capabilities.
