Cost Accountant

A leading food manufacturing company, based in Richards Bay, is looking for a detail-oriented and driven Cost Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.
This role is ideal for someone with strong manufacturing exposure who thrives in a fast-paced plant environment and takes pride in accuracy, meeting deadlines, and driving cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain standard costing processes
- Perform detailed variance analysis and provide insights to management
- Maintain and analyse bills of material (BOMs)
- Monitor and control inventory, including WIP and finished goods
- Ensure accurate costing and reporting within strict deadlines
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive efficiencies across the plant
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom Degree (CIMA advantageous)
- Minimum 3 years experience in a cost accounting role
- Experience within a manufacturing/plant environment highly advantageous
Non-Negotiables:
- Proven manufacturing cost accounting experience (standard costing, variance analysis, and BOMs)
- Strong inventory, WIP, and cost control expertise
- High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines
