What will you do?
Under direct supervision, responsible for the classification and recording of information in respect of financial transactions and the maintenance of accounting records in one of the following areas: debtors, creditors, ledgers, cashbook, reconciliations, treasury.Posts journal or voucher entries, reconciles accounts and checks for accuracy. Verifies, sorts, posts and checks claims, bills, invoices and vouchers.
What will make you successful in this role?- Investigate variances of Expenditure and Recovery between Actuals and Budget and assist Financial Controller
- Reconciliation of:
- Permanent headcounts (monthly) between Actuals and Budget
- Contractor’s listing (monthly)
- Fixed assets (all) and ensuring that assets are loaded onto assets register and reconciled to ensure budgets are correct for the next budget cycle.
- Provide reasons for over / under spend on recon items monthly.
- Follow-up and obtain approvals from relevant Exco/Manco members on critical time sensitive documents, payments and approvals.
- Assist with audit queries and provide necessary documentation.
- Handling of queries daily
- Contractors Audit Reporting
- Capturing and Recon of Invoices and Journal
- Journals for Accruals and Receipt of Goods on PO’s
- Verify Receipt of Goods
- Prioritise and re-prioritise work to meet deadlines due to changes.
- Ensure that processes are drawn up and kept up to date for consistence in delivery.
- Handling Ad hoc queries or requests from Vendors and Clients
- Assist Financial Controller during Budgeting Process
- Client billing
- Purchase orders capturing
- Matric
- Finance degree
- Experience of the financial and accounting environment for at least 2 years
- Understanding of accounting principles
- Experience in providing support for month end in a finance environment.
- Microsoft Office (strong excel skills)
- Working on SAP will be an added advantage.
