Maintenance Specialist

A well establish automotive company in Durban are seeking a Maintenance Specialist with strong electro-mechanical expertise to join there dynamic team. The ideal candidate will lead the maintenance department, ensure operational efficiency, and manage engineering projects from initiation to completion.

Minimum Requirements:

Education & Trade:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Electro-mechanical preferred)
• Trade Tested: Millwright / Fitter / Electrician

Experience:

• Minimum 7 years in maintenance supervision
• Strong disciplinary and people management record
• PLC and project management experience essential
• Knowledge of instrumentation will be advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Management & Planning:

• Supervise and allocate maintenance resources
• Analyze planned maintenance and breakdown reports
• Fault-finding and root cause analysis
• Manage preventive maintenance schedules and critical spares

Breakdowns & Repairs:

• Oversee breakdown responses and escalate as needed
• Coordinate repairs to minimize downtime

Project Management:

• Contribute to project scope, costing, and scheduling
• Manage implementation and supervise project teams
• Ensure quality standards, procurement, and documentation compliance

Continuous Improvement & Reporting:

• Drive innovation and efficiency
• Analyze reports to identify improvement areas

People Supervision:

• Lead and develop your team
• Promote a positive work culture
• Drive performance, discipline, and diversity targets
