Job Overview

We are seeking a responsible and experienced Assistant Front Office Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for supervising front office operations, managing reception staff, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional customer service to all guests.

As the first point of contact for visitors, the successful candidate will be professional, welcoming, and efficient in handling inquiries, reservations, and guest concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate daily front office operations
  • Assign tasks and ensure all shifts are adequately staffed
  • Manage and support receptionists and porters
  • Handle guest inquiries, reservations, and complaints professionally
  • Ensure exceptional customer service at all times
  • Monitor front desk operations and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Maintain office equipment (telephones, photocopiers, etc.)
  • Oversee incoming mail, deliveries, and courier services
  • Create and manage staff rosters
  • Perform administrative duties including bookkeeping and reporting
  • Assist with planning events, meetings, and team activities
  • Coordinate restaurant bookings and assist with event management
  • Work closely with Maintenance and Housekeeping teams to ensure rooms are guest-ready
Minimum Requirements
  • Grade 12 / Matric (relevant qualification in hospitality or management advantageous)
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience in a similar role within hospitality
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience with Opera or similar hotel management systems advantageous
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle pressure and resolve issues efficiently
  • Own reliable transport (essential)
  • Willingness to work shifts, including nights
