Engineering Business Development Manager

Requirements:
- An Engineering qualification and an MBA or marketing qualification (preferably)
- A strong understanding of engineering principles is essential to effectively communicate with clients and internal technical teams.
- Expertise in sales, marketing and business development is crucial for driving growth
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are needed for client interactions, presentations and internal communication
- The ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and project management skills are required to oversee sales processes and ensure projects meet their goals.
- Proficient in negotiation of contracts and the ability to find creative solutions to meet client needs.
Key responsibilities:
Market analysis and strategy:
- Conduct market research to identify new markets, customer needs, and potential business opportunities.
- Develop and execute business and marketing strategies to increase market share and profitability.
Lead generation and client relations:
- Prospect for new clients, build relationships, and manage existing customer accounts.
Sales and negotiation:
- Prepare sales contracts and proposals, negotiate contract terms, and work with internal teams to create pricing strategies.
Technical and project coordination:
- Act as a liaison between clients and internal departments like engineering and logistics.
- Use technical expertise to understand client challenges and propose tailored solutions.
- Project manage capital projects.
Marketing and promotion:
- Organize and run marketing campaigns and prepare literature for new products.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and industry events to promote the company.
Performance monitoring:
- Monitor sales, market trends, and competitor activity to report on performance and recommend strategy adjustments.
