Purpose of the Role:

The Finance Intern assists with the full spectrum of financial operations, including transaction processing, reconciliations, reporting, compliance, and audit support. The intern will develop practical skills in financial management within an ICT SME.

Key Responsibilities:

• Transaction Processing: Capture invoices, process payments, and record receipts.
• Reconciliations: Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
• Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Expense Management: Process staff expense claims and manage petty cash.
• Compliance: Support VAT, PAYE, and other statutory submissions.
• Audit Support: Prepare documentation and respond to auditor queries.

Requirements:

• South African unemployed youth between the ages of 18 and 34.
• Must not have previously participated in the YES Programme.
• Completed qualification in Financial Management or Accountancy.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial information.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and relevant accounting software.
• Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
• Demonstrated initiative and achievement drive.
