Electrician

A leading manufacturer in the flexible packaging industry based in Kwazulu Natal, is seeking to employ a skilled and highly motivated Qualified Electrician to join their dynamic team. Key Responsibilities:

• Perform all general electrical work, including installations, fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance.
• Diagnose and maintain PLC systems, drives, and automation components to ensure efficient production uptime.
• Support machine commissioning, upgrades, and modifications across extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting and bagging lines.
• Work closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
• Adhere to safety standards and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct planned maintenance checks

Minimum Requirements:

• Matric
• Recognised Electrical Apprenticeship (Trade Test or equivalent).
• Solid knowledge of general industrial electrical systems, control panels, and wiring standards.
• Hands-on experience with PLCs, drives, sensors, and automation systems.
• Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Added Advantages:

• Experience in the flexible packaging or plastics industry (extrusion, printing, lamination, slitting, bag-making).
• Further electrical / automation qualifications will be highly beneficial.
• Exposure to FSSC 22000, ISO, or similar quality and safety systems.
