Our client in the Hospitality Industry is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Lodge Manager to support the Lodge Manager in overseeing daily lodge activities, ensuring exceptional guest experiences, and maintaining the highest standards of staff management, procurement, and customer service.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about safari, guest satisfaction, and team leadership, with a proven track record in hospitality management within a luxury safari lodge environment.

Job type: Permanent – accommodation provided

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist the Lodge Manager in overseeing daily lodge operations
  • Managing the lodge staff,
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings.
  • Ensure exceptional guest service by, addressing guest needs promptly and personally
  • Oversee procurement processes, including inventory management, stock ordering, and supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate and supervise housekeeping, food and beverage, guides, and other departments to uphold standards of excellence and safety.
  • Maintain strict health and safety protocols, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Assist with budget management and financial reporting, including controlling costs and maximizing revenue opportunities.
  • Handle guest feedback and resolve issues swiftly
  • Support training and development initiatives for staff
  • Collaborate closely with management to implement new initiatives that enhance the lodge’s reputation and guest experience.
Minimum Requirements
  • Proven experience in luxury hospitality management, ideally within a safari lodge or remote luxury setting.
  • Strong leadership and staff management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Experience in procurement, inventory control, and supplier management.
  • Good financial acumen with experience in budgeting and cost-control measures.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to the dynamic nature of a safari lodge environment.
  • Valid certification in hospitality management or related field is preferred.
